volunteer-in-your-communityThe staff and board of directors at Habitat have a lot of great stories about all the families we have helped because of community support through donations, volunteers and ReStore customers. We are so proud of our work and the people behind Habitat’s success that we have created several videos that help us tell our story.

Take a few minutes and check them out!

There are some repairs that stay with you. In 2017 we worked with Jim Lopez to help repair a home for his brother Felix.  After Felix was found on the floor of his home and rushed to the hospital, the empty house was broken into, items stolen and the house ransacked. With the help of volunteers from Lemoore Naval Air Station and a wonderful team from Home Depot, we were able to return the house to a decent and affordable place to live.  Check out the beginning video then enjoy pictures from our Home Depot work day!

On Sept 15, 2017, more than 20 volunteers from Wells Fargo Kings-Tulare Commercial Banking Office helped paint the exterior of the Visalia ReStore, transforming the building in 4 hours. Check out the difference their help made.

Zach Green and Habitat volunteer Michele Figueroa spent nine days in Nicaragua building homes with Habitat for Humanity. This short film tells an amazing story.

Thank you to Zach Green for producing our short film and helping us show others “Habitat at work in Tulare and Kings Counties”.

May 2016 we had an amazing group of women out working on a Visalia job-site. It was heartwarming moment when the first walls went up!

Habitat for Humanity has been working and changing lives in Tulare and Kings Counties for more than 22 years. Recently our very first homeowner walked in the office and handed us a check for her last mortgage payment. It’s a wonderful story!

Thank you to the Visalia Chamber of Commerce for nominating Habitat for Humanity for the non-profit of the year award for 2016. Congratulations to all the nominees and to all the winners. The community wins when businesses and non-profits work together.
